Frequent Questions & Pricing

What is the process for family photography ? How does it all work ?

A family photography session includes includes maternity, newborn, extended families, grandparents, couples, single parent families,  couples with dogs, blended families, families with teens or grown up children and every other variation you can think of. Every family has a their story, and I am to show that with beautiful, authentic photography.

Firstly we will do a pre shoot consultation, to find out about your family & what style of session you would like and where to have your photoshoot. This is usually done on the phone or if you would like to come to the studio, we can make a time for you.

You can choose to have your session at our studio in Elanora Heights, an outdoor location or at your home. We can help you decide what would work for your family.

We can advise you on what to wear and how to prepare for your session.

Once you have booked we will send through all the information your need by email, including where to meet, what to wear and a price guide.

Your portraits will be taken by Carol, who has over 25 years professional experience photographing newborn babies, children and families of all ages. Her warm & friendly personality, will put everyone at ease & even the Dad’s say they enjoyed the experience !

After your session we make a time for you to come to the studio for your viewing & ordering appointment. This is when you decide on what you would like, and how to display your images. We use the latest technology to give you a great cinematic presentation.

Families love both the photography session & the viewing appointment & say it is fun and bonding experience for everyone !

Do you suggest studio or outdoors for photo sessions?

The location depends on the ages of your children and the style you prefer. For children under one year old, or families seeking a classic or formal look, we recommend our studio. Our studio features beautiful lighting that helps us capture stunning images.

If you prefer a more relaxed, lifestyle feel, outdoor sessions are a great choice. The outdoors offers a natural setting, and many examples can be found in our gallery.

When are beach sessions scheduled?

Beach sessions take place approximately one hour before sunset to make the most of the soft, golden light. The light is also more flattering when the sun is lower in the sky. (We all want flattering light for our photos!).

If the kids are young and go to bed early (this usually applies to summer beach shoots, when the sun doesn't set until 8pm), then there are some other outdoor locations and even a couple of beaches, where we can do an early morning shoot.
